These works are rubbings from records, scanned and printed digitally. I was inspired by the New Horizons mission to Pluto. Pluto acts as a source of hope, as it provides insights into the formation of the solar system. It also portends that if we will not or cannot emerge from the anthropocene with a stable planet temperature, Earth will become a dead planet, akin to Pluto. These opposite reactions, hope and dread, are a goal of the work. I seek to access the fugitive moment between positive and negative space, macro and micro scale, and chaos and order.
